About the project

Rovi Health uses AI to make healthcare more affordable and simple. The platform helps people find, book, and manage in-network care through a friendly, text-based experience that feels effortless and human. By combining automation with personalized support, Rovi removes the usual barriers, like confusing insurance networks and hidden costs, so users can get care faster and with full transparency.

I led the complete product design for Rovi’s platform, shaping the experience from the first message to the booked appointment. My goal was to create a product that felt conversational and trustworthy while highlighting Rovi’s AI-driven efficiency and clarity around pricing and coverage.

Research

The research phase focused on understanding how people navigate healthcare and where technology could meaningfully simplify it. Through interviews and user journey mapping, I uncovered recurring frustrations: uncertainty about what to do, difficulty comparing doctos, and overwhelming scheduling systems.

I also analyzed how users perceived AI in sensitive contexts like healthcare. Many users were open to automated support, especially when it reduced wait times or confusion, as long as it still felt personal. These insights guided how we positioned Rovi’s AI: as a helpful assistant that empowers, not replaces, human care.

This stage defined key principles for the design: transparency, reassurance, and guided simplicity. Users wanted to feel informed and supported, not processed.

Approach

The design approach focused on turning complex processes into calm, guided interactions. I built the user flow around short, conversational exchanges that surface only the information users need at each step. The AI quietly handles provider matching, insurance verification, and scheduling behind the scenes, while the interface keeps everything clear and human.

Visually, I used a minimal black-and-white palette with orange as an accent to emphasize calls to action and moments of reassurance. Typography and layout choices prioritized readability and balance, letting the content and conversation take the lead.

Each design decision, from tone of voice to motion feedback, aimed to make healthcare feel approachable and affordable through simplicity, transparency, and trust.
